Book a timed entry in advance and build the morning around that slot. The gardens are part of the general visit, so allow time for them—but remember that lingering in the gardens can affect how much else fits into your day.

Visit the Cathedral; make the Giralda optional
Two major sights can fit if your entry slots are close together.
The Cathedral and La Giralda are close to the Alcázar, making them a practical second stop. Book both major visits in advance and check the entry times before deciding how to structure your morning.
The Cathedral visit and a climb up La Giralda are not the same commitment. The tower climb is optional, and skipping it can preserve time and energy for lunch—especially if you have also spent time in the Alcázar gardens.

Choose a restaurant around the historic centre instead of crossing town for lunch. Seville’s food is part of the experience, whether you prefer a menú del día or a few local dishes to share.

When you are ready, head towards Plaza de España. Its sweeping architecture, tiled alcoves and open spaces make it one of Seville’s most distinctive places.
The plaza has generally been a free public space, but access arrangements can change. Check current entry information before your visit rather than relying on an assumed fee or an old price. Canal boat rides may also be seasonal or temporarily unavailable.

Enjoy a short walk in María Luisa Park
A gentle finish, not another checklist stop.
Next to the plaza, María Luisa Park offers shade, paths and a welcome change of pace. Choose a short loop, find a bench, or simply enjoy the greenery.
You do not need to cross the whole park. If you are tired or the weather is still uncomfortable, shorten the walk and save your energy for the evening.
WHEN THE WEATHER IS HOT
In summer, the heat sets the schedule
Visit the Alcázar early, then take a substantial midday break indoors or at your accommodation. Return to Plaza de España and María Luisa Park later, when the heat has eased. Avoid a long, exposed walk at midday, even if it means dropping a stop.
The same principle applies to families: keep the route shorter, plan breaks, and do not add Isla Mágica to this already full day.

Can I visit the Alcázar and the Cathedral in one day?
Yes. They are close to each other, and both can fit into one day if you book timed entries and choose slots that work together. Keep La Giralda optional; the climb can take time and energy, especially after exploring the Alcázar gardens.
How should I change the itinerary in summer?
Visit the Alcázar early, take a proper midday break indoors, then visit Plaza de España and María Luisa Park later when the heat has eased. Avoid long walks in exposed areas during the hottest hours, and drop a stop if needed.
Should I include Triana in a one-day visit?
